Welcome to my world! I'm Joules Webb, a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Synthesizer fostering collaborations in STEM education.


 Joules Webb has a passion and expertise for STEM Education gained through over twenty years of experience working in both education and industry roles. In education, she has served as a Texas high school science teacher and instructional coach, a STEM Educational Specialist with Texas Education Service Center Region 20, a Program Coordinator for The University of Texas at Austin Cockrell School of Engineering and currently as Associate Director of The University of Texas at San Antonio Prefreshman Engineering Program (PREP) . She is concurrently completing her doctoral studies in Integrative STEM Education at Virginia Tech. She served on the Texas Education Agency Texas STEM (T-STEM) Academy Blueprint design committee and on the T-STEM coalition board for two years. Joules also serves/ed as a volunteer for a variety of regional STEM outreach efforts including the Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce IT committee, the Innovate San Antonio STEM Council, the San Antonio Math and Science Education Coalition, and the non-profit collective impact organization, SASTEMIC. She was a founding host/producer of the weekly radio show TechCityUSA highlighting economic developement issues, workforce talent development needs, and STEM education in San Antonio, TX. Prior to her educational career, she was employed as a chemist in industry which affords her the opportunity to bring the workforce perspective to the education workplace. She brings a depth and breadth of STEM education knowledge to the community, acting as a synthesizer fostering collaborative partnerships among academia, industry, and military/government.

Conduct ongoing and rigorous review of PREP curriculum under a continuous improvement approach, evaluate its effectiveness in preparing students for success in undergraduate STEM education, and make revisions as necessary. Ensure curriculum alignment with appropriate standards. Implement appropriate pedagogical strategies based on research and best practices associated with STEM education. Design and develop an instructor evaluation system. Assist in planning, developing, organizing and coordinating operations of PREP. Joules also facilitates Project-Based Learning (PBL) workshops for educators and provides ongoing classroom coaching support through project implementation.
